A GUIDE TO LITTERS !!
Out of sheer boredom, I have decided to make this thread. I'm here to tell you about litters and blah, and how to make one.
Also, here are some things before you go: HP = High Position HPR = High Position Related
STEP ONE. brainstorm. Just think of the rules and maybe an eye-catching fancypost to use. This will aid you as you go.
STEP TWO. the title. A imple title will do, or something that might say: "LEADER X LEADER KITS [EXAMPLESTAR X SAMPLESTAR]". Another option is to add lyrics, like this: "LA LA LA [HP X HP] LA LA LA", "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH [HP X HPR]", or "[HPR X HP X HP] LA LA BLAH LA". Adding the rank or name of the characters may also catch some people's eyes and make them track. There could be a surprise, like one of the HPs who said that they never want kids is having a litter! You can also put in the Clan so the members who will apply can see if they are able to get a character or not.
STEP THREE. the story. I'm sure you've already planned out the story, otherwise this litter wouldn't have come together! Don't make it too detailed, because there may be kids here -- you can just make a brief story like: "Examplepaw and Examplepaw ran into catnip. You know what happened next.", or "Examplepaw had catnip, ran into Samplepaw as she walked along the border. BOOM went the kittens.
STEP FOUR. the rules. Add up all the basic rules for litters, such as "no guilt tripping", "follow all hcrpg rules", "be patient", "brownie points for fancyposts, graphics and drawings," etc..
STEP FIVE. the genetics. Ask a geneticist to give you the genetics -- if not, make it free-for-all. I'm sure everyone loves a variety. Just remember to be realistic.
STEP SIX. relations and generations.
Who doesn't want to be related to the first ever DawnClan leader? How about the WillowClan medicine cat, or TerraClan's oldest and most famous member? Remember to keep track of a family tree. Families work just as well, maybe easier. You can say: "Examplestar is part of the Example family, making him extremely HPR, and he is a leader himself." Don't forget to add in the relations of the other person's character as well!
Generations. Say, your character is generation one. Someone else's is generation two. The kits will be generation three. I'm not the best at telling the generations, so you should ask someone else.
STEP SEVEN. the slots.
Make a list, something along the lines of name » gender » roleplayer. You can say that the slots may be added or subtracted due to form quality. Or, you can have a set number of slots already, so that you don't have to add or subtract it. Just make sure to keep the litters realistic. You can't make them have two hundred kittens in one litter.
STEP EIGHT. the form.
Most would prefer to leave the form free-for-all, as they can't really provide one that the roleplayers may prefer. Some would provide a form that you can add to but not subtract, and a lot would say that fancyposts, graphics and drawings give you brownie points.
Leave your comments below -- I hope this helped! (c) civet
