coding templates guide !
welcome, all to the hcrpg coding guide. if you've been transferred from wcrpg, please take note that proboards does not support 'fancypost', instead, we have div style. yup, let me explain all the things to you;
THE BASE CODE.. now, take a look at this code
[div align="center"][div style="background-color: #000000;border:1px solid #ffffff";width: 400px;color:#ffffff;"] text text text [/div][/div]
it will come out like this;
notice the "s and the centering and the width. also the break in between. these are css codes that are required for the template, otherwise it will come out wide and invisible unless a " or enter is added. so, feel free to memorize this or copy and paste it into your testing thread.
attributes.. now we move onto the attributes of the template, and the basic ones, though i won't go into detail completely. links will be posted after the guide for your reference. these go INSIDE of the "s.
background: color; is the background color
border: #px solid/dotted/dashed/double color; this is the border
width: 400px; is the width
height: 400px; is the height
margin-left/right/top/bottom: 5px; your template will move left/right/up/down depending on the amount you've put in
color: color; is the universal code for text color
font-family: font; is the universal code for fonts. only the default fonts will work here.
[blockquote] something like the [fancypost borderwidth=0px] code. you can use it as many times as you want until you get the right size for you.
[blockquote][blockquote][blockquote] is what civet uses.
still feel like you need more attributes? [CLICK HERE]! please take note that not all of them work.
MAKING A GOOD TEMPLATE... try to avoid using the default colors like red or blue because they are too bright and unappealing to the eye. also try avoiding using dashed borders with a big border size, because it is also unappealing to the eye. mostly, try to explore and figure out what works out best for you! credit to gryphon

oh, hollow, you can also use
[blockquote] for an easy way to make fancyposts. use it as many times as you want -- I did it three times to look like the fancy i'm using now. <3

How do I make the template stay on the posts? I mean make it default or something or can we not do that?

you go to profile > edit profile > settings and change your posting default to BBCode. after, there will be a text box that pops up, so that you can set what bbcodes pop up by default. Like in WCRPG, those default fancyposts. (:
